Have you heard of or participated in the sober curious movement?
I’ve never heard of the movement but have participated in not drinking alcoholic beverages for sustained periods of time.
Have you participated in Dry Jan? How was it?
I have! I’ve been known to extend past January and participate in sober Q1.
How do you make yourself feel ‘part of the party’ when you aren’t drinking?
A seltzer drink can go a long way! Some type of mocktail or not staying the entirety of the event. Sometimes all you need is a good 30 mins to get in and get out of the party!
Best advice for other women entrepreneurs wanting to start a business?
Bet on yourself. Trust your gut and keep going. Plan accordingly for your finances especially if your business is in the early stages and you are not seeing substantial revenue yet. Also a win is a win, no matter how small it might seem at the moment!
What is your proudest accomplishment?
One of the proudest accomplishments that I have in my career is recently becoming a professor at Drexel University. I’ve always wanted to become a teacher and pay it forward to the next generation and I was able to begin doing that about a year ago.
How have other women helped support you through your career journey?
Throughout my life and career, I’ve been surrounded by exceptional women who have always supported my ideas no matter how crazy they might be! Whether I was pursuing career advancement in the music industry, working hard to become a professor or starting one of the most innovative and sustainable coffee companies in the world, my tribe told me to go for it and don’t stop until I hit the top!
